Sturdie was engaged to deliver the complete electrical, communications, and security package for the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre, located in Pardipardinyilla (Park 2) within Adelaide’s northern Park Lands.
The facility features a 50m indoor pool, an 8-lane 25m outdoor pool, learn-to-swim pool, indoor warm water pool with relaxation zone, leisure water pool, sauna and steam rooms, and entry level diving facilities, all designed with enhanced accessibility and inclusivity.
Sturdie’s scope included the design, supply, and installation of electrical services, a structured cabling system, security and access control, CCTV, hearing augmentation, and a 450 kW solar array. Works were delivered to meet rigorous DIT requirements, including an extensive verification and approval process.
Specialist lighting systems were installed to accommodate multiple competition levels, as well as the Community Oval lighting package, ensuring optimal visibility and compliance for all aquatic events.
Sturdie managed the full lifecycle of the project’s services, including design integration, pre-engineering, installation, commissioning, and handover.
The result is a fully integrated, reliable, and future-ready electrical, communications, and security infrastructure, supporting a safe, sustainable, and technologically advanced aquatic environment for the community.
