Sturdie Secure Technologies was engaged by SA Health to design, supply, and install a comprehensive, integrated multi-platform Gallagher access and intruder alarm system for the new SA Health Distribution Centre in Adelaide’s north. The centre serves as the state’s hub for healthcare logistics, spanning 15,000 sqm and handling critical medical supplies and consumables, requiring a highly reliable, state-of-the-art security system to support 24/7 operations.
The project presented several challenges, including integrating multiple technologies, software, and components into a seamless system, providing on-site and off-site monitoring in collaboration with SA Police Security Services, and meeting tight deadlines during the COVID-19 pandemic while adhering to public sector procedures and reporting requirements.
Sturdie’s Secure Technologies team developed a detailed, adaptable delivery plan in conjunction with the project builder, incorporating labour and material forecasting, site safety planning, and precise scheduling to ensure timely project delivery. The team designed and installed a fully integrated network of smart security and surveillance technologies, including multi-head PTZ, 180°, and 360° cameras, intercom systems at all main entries and exits, access and intruder alarm systems, a video wall, automatic vehicle plate identification, and duress alarms. All engineered to function reliably in all-weather conditions.
The project was completed on time and to the client’s strict specifications, providing a user-friendly, highly secure environment. Sturdie continues to provide ongoing servicing, maintenance, and support, ensuring the distribution centre operates safely and efficiently for SA Health and its stakeholders.
